Dear creator,

Welcome to the home of my letter for Candy Hearts 2023! Which, yes, is just a copy of my DNWs and some Bionicle prompts. I know what I'm about.

General Do Not Wants:

• Incest, including adopted and step-relations.
• Depiction or discussion of underage sex.
• Depiction or discussion of rape.
• Graphic depictions of violence, with an exception for canon-typical levels of violence.
• Detailed descriptions of medical procedures.
• Explicit sex. References to sex having happened off-screen are fine.
• Bigotry (e.g. ableism, transphobia, homophobia, sexism, racism, speciesism), unless echoing canonical views and even then only if condemned/fought against.
• Unrequested ships. Mentioning canonical relationships is fine, background OC couples existing are fine.
• Sinking requested ships if writing their relationship as platonic. (E.g. having the characters say they would/could never think of each other as anything but friends.)
• Severe or permanent harm to children 12 and under. Being scared, upset, or minorly injured (scrapes, bruises) are fine.
• Harm to pet animals, unless the animal is rescued and nursed back to health.
• Cruelty to non-pet animals. Clean deaths are fine.
• Body horror, e.g. involuntary transformation played for horror, lingering descriptions of limb loss or bodily mutilation. Mere mention of amputees, prosthetics, or cybernetic implants are fine.
• Parasites that prey on sapients or animals, particularly endoparasites (e.g. tapeworms, cordyceps fungus). Vague depictions of e.g. mosquitos in summer are fine.
• Setting-change AUs (e.g. all human, BSDM-world, coffeeshop, modern, no magic, soulmates, etc

• Kiina & Mata Nui

Kiina has been surviving on a miserable rock and then Mata Nui doesn't just improve her life, he brings the better world to her, he shows her that idealism can still exist in the world and fixes the world and then the bastard fucks off to nap in a mask forever because oops turns out he's kind of a god and doesn't want to be. Also the fact that Kiina can safely handle the Ignika, presumably because Mata Nui doesn't want her hurt and he can control the Ignika's curse-thingy, is just.... really good. I love it. If you want to write Kiina one-sidedly crushing on Mata Nui I wouldn't complain, but I know I didn't nominate it.

• Pewku & Takua | Takanuva

Best crab. Takua isn't biased at all, Pewku's just great. Such a reliable girl. What kind of care does a giant biomechanical crab need? Shell waxing? Claw trims?

• Kotu & Macku

They should totally prank someone. Kotu does pranks. Macku is the ""responsible"" one here but, you know, dropping a bucket of seaweed on Turaga Nokama is pretty funny. Or, better: Gali. Terrible idea? Probably not, actually! ... Dumping seaweed on any other Toa, though... well, maybe Pohatu wouldn't mind.

• Ignika & Matoro or Mata Nui

The Ignika is a person. It's not a very complicated person, but it's a person. What does it think of Matoro, and its other destined bearers? What does it think of Mata Nui having been shoved inside the Mask of Life and living there now

• Click & Mata Nui

Beetle. Friend beetle. Why did Click investigate the Mask of Life when it landed? How smart is that little bug, really? What do they think of being Mata Nui's shield? What do they think of Mata Nui?

• Hewkii/Macku

""Love isn't canon"" GREG THEY HAVE PLUSHIES OF EACH OTHER. THE PLUSHIES MUST REMAIN CANON. Macku sneaks out constantly to meet up with him and watch him play Kolhii, and has a plushie of him and a tapestry hung up in her hut!! And then she whoops his butt at Kolhii and then she doesn't come along on the "Matoran helping/saving the Toa" adventure and then he comes back a TOA. And then goes missing! And then the SERIALS STOP-- Macku was part of the Chronicler's Company, she'd go hunt down her boyfriend no matter how "he's a Toa" and "she's just a Matoran" and "it's really dangerous and there's a new planet".

Also great: any number of missing scenes from the Island of Mata Nui era about Macku sneaking out. Or kicking his butt at Kolhii. Or swimming lessons, that was hilarious and should get focused on. Ooh, or a Valentine's Day expy and she gets him a present! Like a good kolhii ball/staff, Certified Not Gonna Poison Him This Time.

• Jaller & Takua

These two are so good and I love them. I'd especially like something in the space after Mask of Light but before the 2006 plot kicks into gear, where they're settling into "Takanuva is a Toa now but he's not, actually, that much more responsible or knowledgeable, not like the Toa Nuva, he just has elemental powers now and also beat up the Makuta real good".

I have this image in my mind of Jaller, affectionately, being like "At heart, you're still just Takua" and then Takanuva wincing, because Jaller doesn't mean it that way but the last person who said those words was The Literal Makuta.
