Dear candymaker,

Welcome to my letter for Candy Hearts 2024! It's all the prompts I couldn't fit into my signup. I love everyone in this tagset.

General DNWs:

• Incest, including adopted and step-relations.
• Underage (under 18) sex - depiction or discussion.
• Rape - depiction or discussion.
• Explicit sex. References to sex having happened off-screen are fine.
• Graphic depictions of violence. Exception for canon-typical levels of violence.
• Harming children 12 and under severely or permanently. Being scared, upset, or temporarily injured (scrapes, bruises) are fine.
• Harm to pet animals, unless the animal is rescued and fully nursed back to health.
• Cruelty to non-pet animals. Clean deaths are fine.
• Body horror, e.g. involuntary transformation played for horror, lingering descriptions of limb loss or bodily mutilation. Mere mention of amputees, prosthetics, or cybernetic implants are fine.
• Medical procedures described in detail.
• Parasites that prey on sapients or animals, particularly endoparasites (e.g. tapeworms, cordyceps fungus). Vague depictions of e.g. mosquitos in summer are fine.
• Bigotry (e.g. ableism, transphobia, homophobia, sexism, racism, speciesism), unless echoing canonical views and even then only if condemned/fought against.
• Unrequested ships. Mentioning canonical relationships is fine, background OC couples existing are fine, if I say I like a ship it's not unrequested.
• Sinking requested ships if writing their relationship as platonic. (E.g. having the characters say they would/could never think of each other as anything but friends.) If I say I like a ship it's not unrequested.
• Setting-change AUs (e.g. all human, BSDM-world, coffeeshop, modern, no magic, soulmates, etc)
• RPF crossovers.
• AI-generated works.

General likes:

• Focus on canon friendships
• "You can't prove this didn't happen" missing scenes
• Happy endings
• Slice of life
• Casual physical affection
• Characters who in canon get put through the wringer getting nice days where nothing bad happens
• Getting punched in the feelings about characters
• Canon-divergence AUs
• Crackfic about video game-type glitchiness specifically
• Fluff
• Time travel (time loops, Peggy Sue, alternate timelines... yes)
• Time travel fix-its in particular
• Cats. Full generality. Can a cat reasonably make a cameo? A cat should make a cameo.
• Epistolary fiction, especially for worldbuilding. Mock scientific reports, news article format, letters... it's great, do that.
• I am open to treats, either fic or art!

Conditional likes:

• Crossovers and fusions
• Weird/outlandish crossovers taken seriously (commit to the bit!)

Generally I like crossovers! However, if you're considering writing me a crossover and it's not with a fandom I've ever written, requested, or bookmarked a fic in, please ask through the mods. Also, this is in my DNWs but I'll say it again: No crossovers with RPF fandoms, period..

Bionicle (Generation 1)

Fandom-specific DNW:

• Matoran Universe natives wanting, having, or being capable of having sex; exception for non-sapient Rahi, and Zyglak and other fully organic entities in the GSR.

Some art prompts:

• Hugs. Everyone deserves hugs.
• Scene redraws? Scene redraws. Possibilities: Bohrok Online Animations, Mask of Light movie, The Legend Reborn but with a less "this is just the toys" style... punch me in the feels about Matoro...
• Single- or multiple-panel comics? Yes cool have fun. I somewhat prefer distinct bordered panels if you do go with a comic, but if you have a really cool borderless idea I would like to see it.
• Metaphorical dream sequence-y looking stuff, particularly if you draw any Ignika pairings.

• Click & Mata Nui:

I love this beetle friend. Why did they investigate the Mask of Life? How smart is Click in particular, or scarabax beetles in general? What do they think of being Mata Nui's shield? Also someone on Tumblr suggested that Mata Nui might feel affection for Click because they remind him of the Bohrok, who could have had cleaning/repair duties on the exterior of the GSR....

• Hahli/Jaller, Hahli & Jaller

Romance in the GSR is such a complicated topic but these two are cute. She put! A flower! On! His mask! They become Toa together! Hahli was so shy but then she gained confidence and I just. They're cool, ok. Friends or ""very close friends"", I love them interacting. How did they first meet? Was it on Metru Nui or Mata Nui? Do they learn some interesting new words on Spherus Magna and go "wait, there are categories for close positive relationships other than 'friend'?"

• Ignika & Mata Nui, Ignika & Matoro

The Ignika is a person. It's not a very complicated person, but it's a person. What does it think of Matoro, and its other destined bearers? What does it think of Mata Nui having been shoved inside the Mask of Life and living there now? By Word of Greg the Ignika chose to go by he/him pronouns when assuming the form of a Toa because of its previous bearers; does the Ignika... have a gender? Mata Nui has a gender, at least. Navel-gazing/introspective character studies welcome.

• Kiina/Mata Nui, Kiina & Mata Nui

Kiina has been surviving on a miserable rock and then Mata Nui doesn't just improve her life, he brings the better world to her, he shows her that idealism can still exist in the world and fixes the world and then the bastard fucks off to nap in a mask forever because oops turns out he's kind of a god and doesn't want to be. Also the fact that Kiina can safely handle the Ignika, presumably because Mata Nui doesn't want her hurt and he can control the Ignika's curse-thingy, is just.... really good. I love it.

I almost entirely ship them as Kiina one-sidedly crushing on Mata Nui, so some quietly tragic pining fic would be deliciously painful. On the other hand, Mata Nui going "is this indigestion. did the Ignika put this body together wrong" about experiencing romantic feelings for someone for the first time in his life would be HYSTERICAL. ... Although probably he's done enough observing of sapient species to know about squishy feelings from an external perspective, at least. Probably. Did he ever think that sort of thing would happen to him? Probably not! Is he aro or extremely demi? WHO KNOWS NOT HIM LMAO

• Jaller & Jaller's Hahnah Crab

THE CRAB BEING LEFT BEHIND IS AN INJUSTICE. Possibilities: not left behind in the sea? Left behind but goes on an Epic Quest to find Jaller and succeeds after the Reforming?

• Pewku & Takua | Takanuva

No but really it would be very funny if Pewku insisted on coming along on, idk, Takanuva's Wild Shadowy Adventure. Or the Voya Nui mission. Or just write some sweet fic about Takua giving her some TLC, like shell waxing or claw trims. What's the optimal environment for a Ussal? Is Ta-Koro too hot?

• Jaller's Hahnah Crab & Pewku

Look I just think it would be funny if the crabs talked shit about their overgrown Matoran and their habit of leaving the crabs behind.
