OOTS! It's great!
A new Order of the Stick page dropped today (#1149), and the punchline is hilarious.
Ok, so Durkon's just been rezzed by Hilgya. He promptly goes into a long-ass speech about how he shouldn't have judged her for running away from her husband and how he wants to be there for her and their son, and then he gets down on one knee and proposes to her.
Cue two beat panels.
And then cue Hilgya Flame Striking him dead again, and saying defensively to the horrified and/or bemused Order, "Oh, calm down. I'm rich now, I can just raise him again."
Hilgya, no!Hilgya, yes. It's a very, mmm, succinct way of firmly rejecting the marriage proposal with a side of "and probably I will never say yes", in addition to being a character-defining moment of "sheeeee's a chaotic evil Cleric of Loki, she cares about Kudzu and herself and that's about it." I love it and I love her and it's great and hilarious but some GitP forum-goers did make the good point that Durkon is now down two levels and that means he's down an entire caster level and jeez, Hilgya, way to potentially sabotage the saving of the world from unraveling.
Speaking of "horrified and/or bemused Order", V's face is great. Everyone else whose face you can see is horrified and/or angry, but V is just like "eh? Whyever would she do that?" and that is also character-defining.
Also: this seems unlikely to happen, but I'd be pleased and amused by Hilgya and Durkon having to hash out some kind of joint custody arrangement for Kudzu. The wacky hijinks of Lawful Good Dad and Chaotic Evil Mom! It'd be great!
